Akira
If Marijuna is a gate-way drug, because it leads to harder drugs... Than Akira is the gate-way movie. Everyone, who likes anime, is required to watch it. It is not only a great movie, smart with an excellent plot, and beautifully animated, but it is also one of the first anime movies to be mainstreamed. Being one of many peoples first taste of japaneese animation, a commentary on socio-economics and the hierarchy of government. An exceptional film, unfortunately this movie suffers from the very problem named after it. The Akira Paradox.
